Knowledge friendship love God

Let me premise this blog by saying that this might be one of the superior things to ever befall upon me; this realization you are about to embark on.
Last night I got into a fight with a friend. He got mad at me for having “expectations” of him, and that I should just appreciate him for who he is (long story short). And it got me to thinking about my expectations of friends. And this is what I came to: I...take this in…will NEVER be ok with people staying stagnant with themselves. Let me drop this knowledge on you.
There are some undisputable facts. One, God has called us to love and take care of his creations. Therefore love is an action. By loving we thus have taken on the process of growing closer to God. By growing closer to God we then and only then can realize his potential for us. So by loving we begin to finally reach who God created us to be.
By being your friend and loving you I can see in each of you your potential. I’m not saying you all aren’t amazing as is, but each of us has a lifetime of improvement ahead of us. I will expect things out of my friends and I will push you to be the person you were created to be. And I hope and pray that you do the same for me.
When I came to this realization of love and life and God and friendship last night it sort of changed me. So many of my friends are working on rebuilding their heart, faith and inner self and I would love to see them all go to church more and dive into a relationship with God. We are so afraid to love that maybe because of these fortress/bomb shelter walls around our hearts, we are starting to lose that part of ourselves that’s in God.
My one advise: be willing to open up, trust and love. In love I think we will finally find all the healing we are looking for. When people say that their husband/wife/girlfriend/boyfriend complete them, I don't think that's true no person can complete another person, but I think that by loving...loving anyone for that matter, we do finally find ourselves complete in God.
