Nana,
You know how people always tell you when you are down or in a bad mood to find your happy place? Well let me tell you mine. I don't remember when this took place, maybe it is just a compilation of numerous memories, either way this is my go-to happy thought.
It's an early summer morning, the sun is shinning and the birds are still out and singing. You, me, and mom are driving down one of the old neighborhoods in Bakersfield. As I look out the window I see the sun peaking through the bright green tree leaves resulting in wonderful shadows on the pavement. I feel the cool morning air come through the open car window. As I take in the slendor of the morning sun a warm feeling of being home, contentment, awe, and love take over my body. This is home, this is love, this is me being happy. I think I have spent my entire life searching for something, anything to bring me this feeling again. I think this is what everyone searches for. I will always cherish those memories of summer shopping trip with you and my mom. More importantly I cannot wait to have them once again. I love you so much and I am so grateful to have such a wonderful grandma as you. Thank you for giving me my "happy place" and all the love in the world.
Love,
Chanel
